The Reason Why

The Reason Why

“We read because if we don’t our eyes will dim. We write because if we don’t our souls will.”

The above is a quote I wrote to express why I read and write so much. Television can deaden the soul. It seems the more channels available, the less of interest there is to watch. My soul longs for more, for something stimulating, something to ponder, some “thing” to question whether to agree or disagree with in the end. So, I read.

I write when my thoughts are no longer containable in my mind. They refuse to escape through verbal expression because such cannot fully express it. So, I write.

Some read and write from an inner passion, boredom, restlessness at night, and a host of other reasons.

Why do you read? Why do you write?

I look forward to reading your thoughts.

I journeyed from GED to a PhD in Psychology. I decided to focus on my writing once I retired from the clinical field. I write in various genres and have several WIPs for publication once edited. I post articles on this website for intellectual and entertainment purposes.
