Charlene had been interested in becoming involved in the BDSM (Bondage, Domination, Sadism and Masochism) community.
She’d gone on Fetlife, created a profile, searched groups, replied to discussion posts, started a few discussion threads, posted pictures, responded to comments on her pictures, and replied back to messages.
That sounds like a lot, doesn’t it? Well it was a lot, however, Charlene went on the site to meet people which meant she had to go offsite. To meet people, you have to meet people and Charlene understood that concept. She RSVP’d to a sit down dinner event and guess what? She met people! Crazy isn’t it?
She engaged in conversation with the people at her table and the occasional person that would drop by, and sometimes, sit down at the table. The conversation was lively, so much so that each person sent/received a “friend request” for future communication and possible road trips to other events.
This post is short and sweet and hones in on one important fact: If you want to meet people, in whatever type of community, you have to not only engage online but also go offline to actually meet them.
Share this article, subscribe for automatic notification of new posts, and go out and meet people.
