Using or Being Used

I watched the movie “30 Years to Life” and this was one of the lines:

“Sex outside of marriage, for a man, is like finding money. If no one claims it, he’ll just keep spending it and spending it until it’s all used up.”

When I heard the above words, I thought, “Wow! Really?” But as I thought about it, it made sense in light of how some men treat women and not just in a sexual situation. I watch a lot of court TV – People’s Court, Hot Bench, and very rarely Judge Mathis. I get so fed up hearing cases where the woman paid a man’s bills, loaned him money, co-signed for him to buy a car, let him live with her, etc. Where does it end? I’m old-fashioned in the sense that I believe a man is supposed to provide for his woman, not the other way around.

I know the following statement can go either way, though it’s typically said that “women have sex from an emotional perspective.” Meaning, a woman will have sex if she is emotionally attached to a man. Whereas, a man will have sex simply to satisfy an urge; a desire to receive something from a woman. When he saw or felt he wanted something different, something new – he either cheated or he left. In these court cases, once the woman ran out of money, refused to give him more money, or demanded her loan be repaid, the man ended the “relationship.” When he used up everything she had or received everything he could get from her – he left. When does it end?

What are your thoughts on the above movie statement?

Have you experienced anything similar in your own life? Financially or sexually?

I look forward to reading your thoughts.
